Frequently Asked Questions

What are Advantage Premium Horse Blend TM. pellets for horse bedding?
The Advantage Premium Horse Blend pellets are made of high heat treated, clean pine shavings. We have developed our own manufacturing process to create condensed wood flakes suitable for horse bedding usage. The material used for Advantage Premium Horse Blend pellets are screened, dried and compressed into small condensed wood pellets, resulting in highly absorbent (6 times more absorbent than traditional shavings), white pine bedding. All wood pellets and shavings are not created equally. Most brands on the market today are fuel grade wood pellets packaged in horse bedding bags. We manufacture our pellet to much higher standards to address dust concerns and absorbency.

How do the Advantage Premium Horse Blend horse pellets work?
Think of the pellets as a form of fine flake shaving. Upon bedding the stall, the pellets will require fresh water to develop the pellet into the fine flake shaving product the horse beds on in the stall. This fine flake shavings bed is free of allergens, easy to clean, and highly absorbent. Because of the high density of the bedding, it is comfortable and provides good compression for the horse.

Do I bed the horse on Advantage Premium Horse Blend hard pellet?
Advantage Premium Horse Blend Recommends that if you use just the pellets by themselves, By adding fresh water to our pellets, they are softened into a highly absorbent, dry bedding for your horse. Most other pellet bedding will instruct you to bed your horse directly on the pellets we do not recommend this but you can add our pellets with our mini pine flake together for a supreme blend of horse bedding. Our soft, dense bedding provides a good compressed shock absorbent footing for the horse.

What makes Advantage Premium Horse Blend pine pellet a better horse bedding?
• It is safe. Other producers buy wood waste from a variety of sources. This results in the possibility of contaminants from hardwoods and other toxins as well as inconsistent quality. The white pine used to make Advantage Premium Horse Blend Bedding is a controlled product.

• Cleaner, drier Stalls. The drying process makes the bedding 3 times more absorbent than traditional shavings. The urine spot will not spread. It will remain clumped for easy removal.

• More Cost Effective. One 40 pound bag of Advantage Premium Horse Blend Bedding is equal to 1½ to 2 traditional shavings bags. You will see a 30 to 50% reduction in disposal volume. Your stall cleaning time will be reduced as well. Compared to large shavings, only half to 3/4 the amount of time is required to clean the stall.

• 40-pound bags allow more bags in your storage space.

How are the Advantage Premium Horse Blend pine pellets different from other wood pellets used for horse bedding?

How many bags of Advantage Premium Horse Blend Pellets will I need for my stall size?

Once the stall is changed over to Advantage Premium Horse Blend you should not have to add additional bedding for about 2 - 3 weeks depending on the horse and the quality of maintenance.
